I had a GREAT weekend!

Friday Night:: Dad is in "The Weir" as Jack. His show opened Friday night. He has been grumbly about the Director and her being stupid and her making him not really care about his performance. But overall, he had a decent opening night and by far the Second half was better as I was seriously contemplating leaving during intermission because they just weren't really ensnaring/engaging me in the story. The set, by far, was the best I have seen in the 16 years I have been involved with ESP. IST is a black-box forum for those who are theatre buffs out there. While I was there I networked and tried to set up some side jobs for me creating the playbills and artwork for their future efforts. I am really excited about this opportunity and hope to hear from them soon. As my usual response is to hear nothing and not be included I will be using the method of checking up constantly to see if I can "help." Saturday:: Jason and I got up early, on my prompting, to get some errands done before the day was half over. After the errands were done we tooled around the area and found lots of For Sale signs. We then took mom out to lunch and followed that up with playing Pool, which I haven't done since the last time we went almost one year ago, much too long for me to be away. So after royally whooping his but, we head home. Backtracking a bit. Earlier our Errands took us to the Book Store where I picked up an Advanced Photoshop Magazine, it TOTALLY ROCKS! And a travel Scrabble which we plan to use on our trip to Utah in 15 business days! (Oh yes I am counting down the days till freedom from the office!) We also got a New Camera. When we got home we played with our new toys and then Omar and his family came over for dinner and games. It was a very fun evening. I will post pics later. Sunday:: Who else forgot the time change? Well I got up at 8 something and then was about to make a phone call when I realized that it was not even 8 yet and then the light bulb clicked on and I crawled back to bed, but it was too late I was awake. The reason I had crawled out of bed was because Ang and I were heading into the City to see MirrorMask. Check it out folks if you liked the Labyrinth, What Dreams May Come, and/or Dark Crystal. It was really very Chock-Full of imagery. Surreal art comparable to Dali's. My favorite line is "NOooo, I don’t' want to be a waiter!" The weekend was wrapped up by a trip to Wegman's a very yummy store. And the Food Network and my kicking butt at Scrabble! In Other Realms:: Here is an article of interest about Jake Gyllenhaal. I saw him in Moonlight Mile which I thought was very interesting. He seems to have an interesting choice of films and I like his sister's performances as well. Wonder if we will see anything with them in the same production?

Much Better

I love cliche kisses like the best of them - but boy are my lips tired of that kiss! So this is more mellow and blue and will have to do until I master the art of webpage design. CSS is a good place to start - I have been reading a book about it, but the weather [rainy and overcast as it is] isn't making it easy to pick up a book right now and read myself through the end of the day. Have no idea what to do this weekend. Seems like a fuzzy moss-covered sloth moved into my brain and is sucking out all, if any, motivation I have. Hope I caught everything when I changed the template. . . Nothing else new to report. Cheers!

Time for an Update

Neither of us cares for the place we live in and with 130 days left of having to live here we are both feeling antsy lately to move. Now that 130 is just the amount of time between now and when we can sell - not necessarily when someone will buy or when we will find a place. I am just shooting for getting all that we can get for it. The last element of our "getting the house ready" is to replacing the flooring. No small feat I tell ya. But the questions are 1) How much of a dent will it put in our credit? 2) When will we have time to do it? 3) What will we refinish with in the end, wood (the fake kind) or carpet? Carpet - Means someone else can handle the work. Wood (the fake kind) - We would probably take on ourselves. In other news: Jason and I went to Cox's Farm this past Saturday with Heather and her girls. We had a hoot of a time. :) I got a bit of a sun burn, but that serves me right for not thinking to put sunscreen on before the all outdoors events. Aubrey was quite the firecracker - wanting to get into everything and all the hay wanting to get into her. Kiera seemed to take it all in stride and got to go down at least one slide. My favorite part was watching all the kids having so much fun - this afterall was and is my favorite time of the year. We munched on some Kettle corn while watching Aubrey and her unknown friend dance to the music. I really enjoyed the baby pigs which were feeding when I got the whole gang over to check it out. They were so cute and were born on the 3rd so they were really small too. Think Babe (the first one). Overall was the best part of the weekend and overall this weekend was great. Only one month until we a re in Utah. And I can hardly wait, I really want a vacation!

Happy One Year!

Well it's offically one year. Jason and I began our life together one year ago tonight.
Last year we were running at the station. It was not my usual night. I was filling in for one of the regulars. At the time Jason was running three nights a week. On that night - two nights after I had called him up with some silly story about wanting someone to eat sushi with me since no one else I knew ate sushi (which is true, but I had no huge interest in sushi - just him) - He sat in the ambulance with me while I did the run-through of supplies and talked about going to get sushi sometime. Later that same evening while monitoring one of the local High School's Football games lo-and-behold the FF's show up and I spend the rest of the game talking to Jason and we both had one bite of very gross, but free, hotdogs before we promtly disposed of them in the proper receptacle. And, when we were back at the station later that night we couldn't stop talking, finally at 2 AM (since I had to be at my second job early in the AM - and still had the chance of getting a call) I went to bed. We spent the better part of 5 more days figuring out where our relationship was headed. To me though this night marks our one year together.
And I love being sappy so there! Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!
